What Is?

That wet stuff that is lying on top of the ground?

Could it be?

Yes it is!!

We have had over an inch and a half of rain over the last few days, which has been a real shock to the system. There are blades of green grass poking their heads through the ground as if they are going to grow into some nice long picking for some horse to come along and munch on.

That is of course, frosts notwithstanding! Winter hasnt really left us yet, but today the promise of Spring being just around the corner is too hard to deny.

However, today you would swear it was a spring day - it has been just beautiful sitting at the side of the house, just relaxing, not thinking about anything much at all. The paddocks are covered in a green hue which shows just how fast after such drying weather that they can come back.

All horses are suitably covered in mud (some more than others) - except for Joseph who is the exception to that rule as he is being rugged every day... mind you, when he gets his jammys off of a morning (before sprinting out to see his mates, Lenny and Jake), he likes to have a bit of a roll in the sand just to take the edge off being too clean!

A big CONGRATULATIONS must go to Centenn (Bob) who won last Saturday at the Gold Coast. Rumour has it that Bob is off to the city in the next week or so. What a beautiful boy and well done!! Both Hamish (Sir Weather Vain) and Oscar (Tannerong Baluk) ran great races at Toowoomba as well. Oscar showed no sign of his sore back, so his couple of weeks off must of done him the world of good!

Certainly gives me a good feeling to know that the time they spent here with us, really has made a difference!

Peering out over my monitor I see the clouds starting to gather again....could we be in for some more rain again?

Keep your fingers crossed!

Helen.
