Well what a nice surprise to go into Gallopers email to find out that the Massie Lodge Website had won the Let It Ride.com website of the day award on the 10th July, 2006 . Im not quite sure what it means, however, its nice to know that someone, somewhere has gone to our website and liked what they saw. Mind you, not that I have done much work on it recently with all the other stuff thats been going on.
15mls ...
Of rain this weekend and wasnt it a sight to behold! We havent had any rain since February / March of this year and to wake up on Saturday morning, startled by the sound of rain on the roof after a big night with Amanda and Justin, was absolutely wonderful. Of course, not enough to make a difference, however, its a start. What do you think the chances are of getting a further 2 inches? Um, not very likely!
Yesterday I went outside and was absolutely covered in wet and mud trying to take photos of the residents, and you will see just how dull the day was! Needless to say that all horses are now mud covered, including our new arrival on Friday night, Danalette.
Danni, a 3yo maiden filly by Danetrice is in transit at Massie Lodge for 2 weeks waiting to be taken to her new owner in Barcaldine, Queensland. A very sweet filly, Danni was previously racing in provincial Victoria and will find the Queensland company a little easier.
Our other new arrival, who is arriving next week, Defrosting, a nice big mare by Nuclear Freeze, is being retired from the Racetrack and we will be on the look out for a new career and owner for her over the coming weeks. As soon as she arrives I will post some photos.
All other residents at Massie Lodge are doing very well and are all covered in mud (with no exceptions!). I had to laugh this morning when I was outside with the older ladies, I watched Vera (Ophira) get down into the mukky wet sand and have a huge roll - with a huge noise to accompany her.... a deep down chesty growl that obviously showed just how much she enjoyed it! Trousers obviously not to agile because of her knees, grabbed hold of the nearest steel fence and made a corresponding noise through windsucking! I do love the old girls, how nice to be at an age (approx. 133 human years?) where you can just let it all hang out and not care?
Well, enough babbling from me. I promise to be a more frequent poster from now on.
Hooroo for now
Helen.

Congratulations on winning the Let It Ride award for Website of the Day. I've always enjoyed browing Massie Lodge to see what's happening and what's on offer. A huge thumbs up for all the work put into it.
