Welcome to Friday!

and the day is just about over! It has been bedlam here at Massie Lodge the last few days with a visit by Chris yesterday that took about 3 hours out of the day.

The news is not good about Sunny, aka Stupid. While Chris has done a great job in fixing up her foot, he has recommended that she will not be able to race with it. You cant imagine how disappointing it has been coming to terms with the news, but then thats what happens when you get involved in breeding! So, now Sunny will be contemplating her life as a broodmare (probably starting this year). By Kbenjar out of our Euclase mare, Miss Independence, Sunny brings together the lovely pedigree of St. Covet/Arab Heritage and Euclase/Declaration.

My initial thinking would be to look for a stallion who has middle distance or staying lines behind him because Sunny's dam, Miss Independence throws speedy squibs that only just make 1000m!

I have downloaded a demo of Tesio software to have a play with over the coming months, with Evan and I talking of resting Sweetie and Libby this year as they will be having their babies late November. What a good opportunity for a healthy young thing? Hmmm. I will be having a chat to Sunny about this very soon.

The news was much brighter for Tee Cee (Thunderousclassics) with Chris cutting off the flap and the granulated skin on his cut so that the skin could grow over the cut. No damage to any major tendons or bones so a complete recovery is imminent.

The news with Joey, (Joie de Victorie) is good as well ... no signs of pain or soreness down her back or legs and Chris has passed her fit to go back into work albeit slowly. I must say that the 3 straight bucks in a row in front of Chris was probably a bit of a giveaway!

You win some and lose some. However, the degree of how much you win or how much you lose is usually pretty substantial.

Lots of pictures taken of both procedures and are pretty gorey, LMAO.

I was asked by Chris how come I take all the photos and I explained that I wanted to show the daily life here at Massie Lodge, the good and the bad... his comment was "I hope your readers dont have a woozy stomach when it comes to blood!"

Time for me to go and do something creative for dinner. (hahaha). Hooroo

Helen.
