The Road Less (or More?) Travelled

I must of walked 10km today (and the rest!) .... playing musical chairs with all the horses, chasing the little boys who got out of their yard (courtesy of Jimmy who undid the chain on the gate) and putting them back in, helping Evan with the feeds, helping Evan with the "surgery round" as I call it not to mention doing some more cleaning inside (which is always a favourite pastime of mine - NOT).

No, im not whingeing because its satisfying in a funny way and as much as Evan and I complain to each other about the fact that we are stuffed of an evening; where else would you be and what else would you be doing?

It was time to move a few of the horses around so that we could get the young boys (Billy, Max and Jimmy) out into the paddock where they can pick the grass and just be young boys and because Sunny is really a silly twit and hurt her foot again (AAArgh!!!!), she needed to come back into the hospital paddock so that we could get back on top of it again. So, we needed to find a new roomy for Joey and Southern (Another Southern) is it.

It hasnt been an instant friendship between the 2 girls, Southern has "been there and done that" and won races and Joey has all that in front of her (all fingers crossed!). So, we moved the 2 reluctant friends into the dry mare's paddock to give the young boys a go in the front paddock. The dry mares paddock is just a little bit bigger than where they were and full of grass - which is great for this time of the year.

Joey is actually doing better and the EMRT Therapy lady will be coming over tomorrow or Wednesday to give her a session. This is the same as Bowen Therapy.

We have moved Tee Cee up next to Sunny as he has cut his leg (talk about another silly twit!), luckily not seriously but enough to warrant us to keep an eye on it. So, Hamish and Bob have their paddock to themselves.

Shortpants is very happy to have Tee Cee next to her ... these two seem to spend a lot of time standing next to each other in their separate yards. Must be love (or Shortpants is in season!).

Eric is doing really well and is really a very sweet boy. He reminds me of one the dogs the way he follows Evan around while he does his chores. He now has the stable yard next to Tee Cee and makes me laugh how he stands at the gate of a morning ready to come out and do his own thing. He has learnt quickly the routine and is ready at the right times at the feed shed door, lol, talk about an inbuilt sensor!

Well, time for me to go get myself a cuppa and put my feet up for a little bit before going to bed.

Life is good, isnt it?

Helen.
