Did You Think I Forgot You?

Absolutely and postively not! Let me quickly go over last week and you will understand why I havent posted at all in the last 5 days.

Monday - Work
Tuesday - Work
Wednesday - Work
Thursday - Fall in a Heap from Cold resurfacing
Friday - Sick with Cold

and today....? well Iam feeling a bit better after taking it very quietly over the last few days and the fact that I dont have to go back to work until Monday week, certainly makes it easier to finally get rid of the dreaded lurgey.

And I havent forgotten to update the
Stallion Road test today. Today sees a new boy, well in fact he would be an older statesman of the stallion fraternity with a pedigree that is a veritable "who's who" of the colonial racing world. Another unfashionable sire at the sales, who if you have the time to let his progeny get some age on their side, then you will have yourself some fun.

Thursday saw Adam visiting Massie Lodge on a mission to trim the mare's feet. Southern (Another Southern), Queenie (Why for Not), Trousers (Turkish Trousers -pictured above) and Ophira (Vera) all had the pleasure of Adam's company and as you will see from the photos, they were all quite indifferent to the whole occasion. Adam will be back next week (at the moment he has a standing appointment once a week!) to trim Hamish (Sir Weather Vain), Bob (Centenn), Joey (Joie de Victorie) and Grace (Never Wrong). Mind you close behind these four will be Shortpants, Flossie, Sweetie and Libby.

Joey is "Reine de tous ce que elle entoure" in her paddock and poor Grace just does what she is told. She seems to be much better in herself although we are still having Ralda out next week to give her an EMMT treatment. I went out on Friday to help Evan feed the hooved ones and went over to Joey's paddock. To my amazement she executed 4 perfect bucks in a row that would of received a perfect "10" at the Olympics - I nearly dropped the buckets but knew that my life depended on her receiving her feed in full. (lol) Grace was also impressed with Joey's gymnastics, however, decided that discretion being the better part of valour would walk a 3 metre diameter around Joey and her bowl to get to her feed.

As I look over my computer monitor as the sun is setting, the 3 little boys are way over the other side of Rosie's paddock enjoying their life together... my little man Billy is still the little kid on the block but that's ok - we are in no hurry for him to grow up (as long as he is ready for the 2008 Stradbroke that's fine!).
Eric is positively blooming since becoming the Victor EEEE around the house - in fact he felt so good about himself today that he took himself down the road and into Leo's for a pick there (well they say the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence?). After seeing him over there I rushed around (well rushed as much as i could, lol) to get a halter and to find some shoes... however I looked up to see Leo with his arm around Eric guiding him back into our front yard!

Well enough waffling, tonight sees a gathering over at Leo's where we will go until I have had enough (still not 100%). One thing about when you get a cold, do yourself a favour and lie down and let your body recuperate as it should - you do yourself no favours trying to pass it off because it will come back and bite you - BIG TIME! lol

Enjoy!

Helen.
