probably not just yet... however, it is in fact starting to feel like spring already... very mild days with the evenings still getting rather chilly. It was so nice this morning we had breakfast on the verandah.h Max and Jimmy although finished with their two course breakfast were hanging their heads over their yards wanting to know where their toast and coffee was!
In fact, all creatures large and small are starting to feel the effect of the weather. The mares are now starting to trot around with a glimmer in their eye and are smiling to all the boys. Some of the girls are starting to lose their winter woolly coats and you can see the glimmer of their summer coats shining through.
Lets not forget the "small" creatures here ... the snakes are starting to make their move out from their winter hideaways to bask in the warmthness of the days as well.
Of course this is much to the chargrin of Evan and Leo, when they were moving the steel posts from down in the hay shed on Thursday, and came across a baby Tiger Snake (pictured very dead above), who was very cranky at being disturbed in its hideaway.
Of course where there is a baby, there must be mum and dad...
Yipes!
I guess they have a right to exist as well, as long as it isnt near the house.
LOL
All the Massie Lodge residents are doing very well. I spent some time down with the two mums- to-be this morning and I felt Libby's baby fluttering in her stomach. What a miracle!
Needless to say that Sweetie would have none that and told me to buggar off in no uncertain terms!
Evan and I are trying to have a quiet day today after the end of the week being fairly hectic.
Tomorrow sees a little more work on the side fence and that will be the end of that, however, we now have to repaint the existing steel fences as the new stuff makes the old look pretty yukky! (Where is my brother when I need him? lol)
Helen.
