I Always Love

the first day off after working when I am home as I get to spend my day roaming over the paddocks, making contact with the residents once again, knowing that I am not under time constraints as you normally are in a job.

By the time I had wandered outside this morning, (naturally after the first cup of tea for the morning!), the 2 yearling boys, Max and Jimmy (pictured - Max on the left and Jimmy on the right) were lying down having their morning siesta, accompanied by Joseph in the next paddock, who thought that that was also a good idea.

However, once the Sydney Transport Truck arrived it was all boys to the fence and forget about sleeping!

DIVA GOLD (Diva) arrived this morning from the Gold Coast at Massie Lodge where she is letting down from her last preparation as a racehorse and focussing on becoming a Broodmare with a new owner. Talk about a sweetie, she stands well above 16hh, but is as quiet as a lamb (so much for the warnings that we were given from her trainer!). Perhaps a little light on, however, we can fix that up. Diva has cracked one of her front feet bones and is no longer a racing proposition. If by chance you are interested in a prospective broodmare by Gold Carat out of a Century mare, who has a decent racing history, Click Here to find out some more details!

Apart from the Diva arriving at Massie Lodge, Evan and our next door neighbour, Leo, spent a good part of the morning tearing down wood fences that we are going to replace with safe steel ones. And for that exercise we had to move Shorty and Floss up into the paddock next to Diva, however, they should be able to return to their yard by the middle of next week.

What did I do this morning? I had a date to give Millie a haircut. Now for those of you who know Millie, know how hairy she gets... and it really is a big job to get Mrs. Millsbury looking suitably stylish again! Needless to say that my back is now cactus and my shoulder is hurting! lol

All the residents are doing well and are very excited to see the return of some green pick after the frosts. Hmm. Get in while you can before the next frost! lol

Life is Sensational (especially when you dont have to go to work!!!)

Helen.
