and today it was the Allora tip.
Ah yes, today has been rubbish day when both Evan and I wonder why we have to pay Warwick Council "Waste Management Fees" when we get to manage the waste on our own???
Still, I guess, its a necessary evil when you are living out of town and on a property. Today was that day and after loading up the ute (Spikey-man pictured above in the ute) it was off to Allora Waste Management site (now, I was going to take a photo of the sign but I was told off by Evan for even suggesting it!) to "manage" our rubbish.
LOL.
After getting back from such an exciting expedition, it was back down to the back of the property to cut some more wood, bring a few more bales of hay up to the shed and then feed the resident's their lunch.
All 5 Massie Lodge canine residents had a great time, inlcuding Millie who for once did not bring back most of the forrest!
After feeding Sweetie and Libby their hay, it was such a nice day that I thought to myself that I will indulge in a little "stomach watching" .... obviously Sweetie not happy about me standing their watching her stomach as she ate her lunch. It has to be one of the happiest pastimes here at Massie Lodge. Perhaps just a little early for these 2 girls, but a little later in the month and the little bubsies should start squirming around, giving their mothers hell. Sweetie just loves being in foal.
Not.
And as her pregnancy wears on she will become crankier and crankier with her baby and the fact that she waddles and is no longer agile or nimble will annoy her even more. Libby is not so emotional about this however, is not sure about the stomach watching thing.
I will keep you posted regarding the mums-to-be.
The Diva (Diva Gold) has really settled in today and is now eating with much gusto and enthusiasm. Adam will be visiting us next week and will be taking off her shoes. She really is a sweet mare.
Quite a busy week ahead for Massie Lodge with the vet and Adam both due for visits. Luke the vet (Chris has just had his knee reconstructed) will be branding the 2 colts (Max and Jimmy). And Adam has quite a few trims to perform (Max, Jimmy and Joseph included).
Well, time for me to jump up on the lounge, have a cold drink (maybe alcoholic? lol) and read... you gotta love Sundays..........
Helen.
