Humidity today.... but that's ok, Im not complaining - no, really Im not..... because we have had 50mls of rain over the last two days. What a difference already it has made to the paddocks. Hopefully, we will get a bit more today (if this humidity has anything to do with it). So, if you have been doing a raindance, keep it going! All the rain we can get is a bonus!

The 2006 Brisbane Bloodstock sale is on this Sunday.... and I can say that nothing really is a stand out, however, in saying that I do like Lot 69 - a Telesto filly that is out of a city winning Nediym mare called Dark Elegance. She has a beautiful family on her dam's side - now if I was going to buy something...... lol. The other filly I like is Lot 97 - daughter of Semipalatinsk (may he rest in peace). Not commercial in the sense of what's fashionable, but both fillies have nice families and have been bred to be tough and race in Queensland and go on to be good broodmares. There are a plethora of Seven Figure yearlings going through this sale, not my cup of tea, but I guess its all a matter of personal opinion.
I will be very interested to see what the prices do at this sale and what the passed- in rate is.
Are there too many yearling sales at the start of the year? Not forgetting that Ingliss also put through an inordinate amount of yearlings in their premier sales. Is there still a market for this sale coming up in Brisbane, not forgetting that the MM has their Premier sale in March? I guess the answer will be after the sale is over this weekend.
Well, its time to go out and feed the mud covered hooved ones. I would be interested to know what others think of the upcoming sale.
Helen.

They haven't done the "mud roll" there, have they? I look forward to seeing the little ones all covered in mud packs. They will all appreciate the sweet green grass anyway.
