Not a Good Day

to decide to go around the equine residents and try and get out the remainder of their woolly coats as most of the hair blew back into our faces thanks to the ongoing south easterly winds. After covering ourselves in Flossie hair, we both decided that it was too hard and would leave it to a day without so much wind.

Evan endeavoured to start educating young Shorts, although we decided that after a short time, it was better to leave it, once again, to a calm day. (What is it about the wind and horses?) So, instead of starting her training to be loaded into a horse transport, we decided that a bit of refresher training in the alley way on the lead would be in order.

(Who was leading who???) lol

Shortie is about to embark on a most exciting part of her life, being broken in. Shortie will be going to Paul Moody at Allora and will spend at least a month with him. She is ready for it mentally and it will give her ever-thinking mind something positive to focus on!!! Floss will miss her neighbour, but she will be fine.

Funny with the 2 fillies, Shorts is younger than dear Floss, but is miles ahead not only in development but in attitude. It will come in time for Floss-girl, but she isnt at the same point as Shortie.

Joie continues to enjoy her stay in the stable (keeping the bandage on, which is terrific!). We're thinking that she will need a bandage change at the end of the week. I spent some time with her today and gave her a brush all over and oiled down her rump and she looks great! Although I knew that I had to give her a "special" scratch just behind the ear before she would let me finish .... its her thing and she just loves it!

Oscar is a darling and is not quite sure about Joie, who continues to be the bossy girl (well, to everyone EXCEPT Sweetie!!) ... Dirtiere should arrive in the next few days and it will be time for her to get used to her new stablemate!

We're still on only a late night check with Sweetie and Libby, however, with their due dates rushing toward us, we will soon schedule mare watch hours (Note to Sweetie and Libby: How about having your foals at 830pm - together???) HAH! Not likely.

Lets cross our fingers for a not so windy day tomorrow!

Helen.

(P.S - That's my Jakey above!)
