Ch-Ch-Changes ...

With all the comings and goings about to happen, it was time for a few resident paddock changes here at Massie Lodge.

Lenny and Jakey (the grown up 2 year olds, hah!) - Have been moved to the big boys paddock (8 acres), where there is plenty of pick to keep them occupied (that is of course when Lenny isnt making goo-goo eyes at Queenie (aka Nottie) and Southern. Jakey of course knows that its a complete waste of time and effort and just gets on with the job at hand - eating.

Trousers, Vera and Maddie are now down in the big paddock (30 acres) and are having a great time with all the pick on the ground.

Maxwell and Jimmy have been moved from the paddock across from the house to the paddock that is directly behind the house (5 acres) where we can keep an eye on them from the back of the house .... they are good wee boys. Jimmy received a golden award from Monica the vet who microchipped them the other week for being The Best Behaved, while Maxwell needed a little bit of encouragement to stand still.
Note to Greg: Have you thought about Fidget the Digit as a name for Maxwell? lol

Oscar (Tannerong Baluk, pictured above), arrived at Massie Lodge on Friday after taking 3 days to get down here from Rockhampton. What a lovely boy he is ... and looking for a new home too. He has the quietest most level temperament .. just beautiful. Oscar is currently next to Joie in the stables and Joie definitely wears the pants in that relationship! Oscar will stay there until Dirtiere arrives.

Joie (Joie de Victorie) had her bandages changed on Friday and Monica was very pleased with the level at which the skin had grafted already. If the truth be known, I think Joie is enjoying being the centre of everyone's attention - Oscar to her left and Sweetie & Libby on the right. Queen of all she surveys - for the moment!

Dirtiere, who managed to hurt herself badly after her great win in town, will be arriving at Massie Lodge next week. Stable rest is the name of the game for this girl and she and Joie will become the best of friends, keeping each other company.

Libby and Sweetie continue to waddle about the place with Libby seeming to be much more advanced than Sweetie. To my untrained eye, it would seem that Libby's bubs has moved. Its such a nerve racking time and the closer we get the more I will start to fuss over Libs. However, she seems content being with Sweetie and we are both crossing our fingers for a safe, healthy delivery of both foals. (Can we have fillies please???).

4 days off for me ... yippee!!!!

Life is sensational!!!

Helen.
