Is ... Evan's birthday. Now you are probably thinking that he would get the morning off ... a full breakfast made for him while he sits outside on the verandah.... um, no! Today saw us up both getting up very early to feed up early as we were expecting some people around first thing who were looking at buying a mare who we have agisting here with us.
Today has just been very relaxed with the property starting to turn green after the 12mls of rain we had last week (ok ok dont gloat that you had 3 inches!) and the equine residents have all enjoyed their rolls in the mud and the fact that there is green pick now on the ground.
Jimmy and Max continue to play "cups up" after they get fed and you can see their amazement when they find that there is still feed under their bowls. We are in the process of changing their hard feed from Phase 1 to Phase 2 (big boy feed) and Evan will start exercising them on a more regular basis in the next few weeks (leading training etc).
Lenny and Jake are still up to mischief and we have been speaking with Leo our next door neighbour about breaking the two of them in (to give them something to think about!) in the next few months. As you all know, we dont rush the kids but its time that these 2 skallywags had something other to think about rather than playing!
We have had a few enquiries regarding trying to find a new home for Joseph. He's such a quiet boy for a colt. We're hoping that something comes along for him soon.
Vera and Trousers are doing well - with Trousers continuing on with her windsucking ways (she just loves the steel posts!). Still, she isnt hurting anyone by doing it....
Spikey-man has turned a corner and has become part of the "pumpkins" - finally... he has been carrying around a blue chux cloth for the last day or two and has become quite attached to it. (Yes, he fits in here very well!!!).
Well, time to go and bake a cake. Martha Stewart eat your heart out!
