from my sleep this morning feeling like I had been in a very deep coma ... and found it very hard to get moving. After quickly realising that I didnt have to go into work today (yippee!), I reached out and there was my wakeup cup of tea... hot enough to suggest that Evan had been outside for about 15 mins. That first cup would have to be the best cup of tea of the day.
I was that lethargic this morning that by the time I was ready to go outside and help ... Evan was on his way back inside and just gave me a look of bemusement. "Awake are we?" He said. lol
No rest for the wicked ... after breakfast it was down to give Diva Gold a bath before going on her way to Raheen Stud at Gladfield. Once again, she enjoyed herself so much, after we left her in the transit yard, she decided to get herself another layer of that rich Warwick soil on her body.
By the time Sydney Horse Transport was here to pick her up she was putrid again!! Not happy about having to go on the truck, Diva caused a bit of a ruccus with a few cowkicks and a few bucks to suggest that she wasnt keen on what was about to happen to her.
After Diva left, it was down to check on Flossie's foot and to see how it was progressing and after seeing her mucking around with Short Pants in their shed we decided that we should call in Luke to give it a bit of a clean and to dress it and to give her a tetanus shot.
While this was happening, Short Pants was doing her impression of Irish Royal and was galloping around their yard like a mad thing - not happy with the fact that Floss was on the other side of the fence. Discretion being the better part of valour, we decided that Floss should go back into the yard next to Shorts for the time being.
After Luke left Massie Lodge, we then came up to the young boys Max (pictured above with Evan) and Jimmy to take some photos and to give them a brush and some fussing over only to find that they had found an interest in Leo's mares next door. Hmmmm.
Joseph was not frightened to tell us either that both Mads and Joie were coming into season and would not leave the top of his yard for his lunch.
Ah spring, what a time of the year!
Helen.
