It must be Saturday because there was wall-to-wall racing. That's right there was a race run somewhere in Australia every 2 minutes today.
Unbelievable isnt it?
While Evan was busy watching the races in between doing all the waters and feeds, I have been kept very busy 1) Posting on Thoroughbred Watch 2) Putting together this week's Stallion Road Test and 3) Writing this Post!
This week's Stallion Road Test is Mr. No. Frill's himself. Is that a horrible thing to say about a stallion who hasnt won a Stakes race or produced a Stakes Winner, yet is very well priced to breed a winner? Dont bother sending a mare to him if you are breeding to sell. There is no money about there. However, in saying that, he is producing some handy horses that do race. His Grandma is a half sister to Northern Dancer. His mum did throw a Group 3 winner, so there is some blacktype but is no where near the class of Kaaptive Edition's family. He is a son of Bletchingly and standing here on the Queensland Darling Downs.....have I piqued your interest yet?
I spent some time giving the horses a bit of love up today .... lots of cuddles, getting their mane and tails combed and trimmed ... I can tell you that Shortpants was not going to have a bar of it! It's amazing what losing her warts has done for her confidence!!! lol
No, she is ok and is keeping Flossie on her toes I can assure you.
Shore and Eric are coming to an arrangement in their paddock ... I actually saw them within metres of each other today ... grazing! Perhaps they are slowly becoming mates... Shore still thinks that Southern is "it". And stands and gazes lovingly over the fence at her (until Queenie tells him to move on).
Well, time for this little duck to wind down and have some "me" time.
Dont forget to check out Thoroughbred Watch.
Helen.
