Hoorooo.... to Massie Lodge Resident for the past 3 months, Joie de Victorie (aka Joey) - the time has come for Joey to go back into work and this time she will be going to Paul Nipperess at Toowoomba. With Joey's departure imminent in the next few days, we thought we would bring her up and give her a bit of clean up instead of being covered in mud, which she has been since she arrived here with us (and loving it!).
We're thinking that she should be renamed "Fidget the Digit" .. as washing her was an experience with both Evan and I needed to keep her still!! We have moved Joey up from her paddock and her friends, Sunny, Gracie and Cindy into the "transit lounge", so that she starts getting a little more used to stable life again. Easier said than done with the constant calling to her friends since moving paddocks! It reminds me of weaning time when the babies and their mum's call out to each other for a few days once we split them up. (However, I must say that the calling out on mum's side usually is resolved around feeding time, when mum realises that she now has an entire feed to herself again!).
No, no complaints about Joey. She has been a good resident and is welcome back at any time. We will watch with interest her preparation and will keep our fingers crossed that she comes back with a win or two under her belt for her owners and Paul!
Our little man, Billy is certainly starting to grow up now and Evan has been spending time with him teaching him to lead and to get used to the halter. He is the spit of his mum in his face and around his eyes and the temperament of our little man is just getting better. Let's hope that some of Billy's goodness rubs off onto Mad Max!
We have some interested parties coming to see Caramel over the next few days and it was time to give her a bath to make her look respectable! A chore which Evan surely loves.... not. One of the parties coming to see her went to the MM especially to buy her and were very disappointed when she had been withdrawn. I guess we will find out Caramel's fate over the next few days.
Well, time to go and put my feet up until feeding time comes around again.
Enjoy!
