sometimes need a littl extra help, and we decided today to give yearling girl Trix (Portland Player / Joie de Victoire) a bit of a helping hand. Young Miss Trix was none to happy about the matter, as she seems to have inherited the agitation gene from her mother Joie and got fidgety after the first 5 minutes. Still, this was a learning time for her and she came through with flying colours.
We both decided that it was time to separate Trix and Daisy, mostly because Daisy still has things to learn with her manners. However, Miss Trix was fairly well behaved today and once she got used to the curry comb and brush, settled down for Evan. We still have to get the hair on her tummy and on her rump but thats a lesson for another day. Unfortunately you cant see the fine coat underneath due to the dullness of the day. As you can see, both Evan and Trix had a nice cuddle after the session which left it on a positive note.
I really like the way she is put together - she looks very athletic and very much the racehorse-to-be. She does have a sooky side to her which is good to see, unlike her mate Daisy. We are still wondering who Daisy takes after as her mum Maddie is the quietest mare on the property and we have been told that her dad also has a good temperament. Hmmmm.
