Its about that time of year when we start thinking about who to send our girls to ... and every year I like to go and see one of the new boys that are standing locally.
Naturally, I had to pick the coldest day of the year to actually go and visit!
Freeze, ("Drifter" to his dad John Dean) stands at Springfield Stud at Allora in Queensland. He's a 16hh brown Marscay stallion who is out of the French mare, Snowdrift (dam of Snowland, Portillo, Snippetson and Snowden).
John bought Drift out of his yard and my first impression was what an honest, open looking stallion with kind eyes. My photo of course does not do him justice. John and I were standing and talking for at least 30 minutes and Drift was just happy to be there, cool, calm and enjoying the pick of grass.
Yeah, I liked the look of him. Is he it? Im not sure .... Conatus, Sunday Knight are also in the equation for Miss Epiphany at the moment.
