Being Miss Lucy (Part 1)

It was a sad day for both of us when our darling Isabell walked up like a pro onto the transport truck headed for Echuca.

How hard is it to let one of your babies go? Well, for the most part I thought that I was getting used to saying goodbye to the little ones that we have raised. I have to say that selling Isabell was one of the hardest decisions we have had to make because she was just a darling.

So, a few weeks before she was due to go I started the detachment process... (*sigh* I have tears welling just thinking about it).

But go she did and now she is a very happy little girl with her new standardbred mates (for the moment) in a large paddock.

It never gets any easier. It doesnt matter if you start detaching weeks, months ahead because all the memories are still there... the night she was born, the way she tried to kick Evan when she was only an hour or so old... all those big cuddles in the weaning barn...

Miss Lucy must be feeling the same... however, she seems to have adjusted very well without her little mate and has started coming along with her work with Evan every day as you will see by the short video.
