Are you Sure...

that we've had the weekend already?

It seems that this weekend has gone through in one major blur ... it only feels like yesterday that I got home from work on Friday afternoon and was looking forward to the weekend with our visitors (and owners) Maria & Leo Maltam and Jane & Rob Koch (pictured above with Evan).

Actually, it’s funny just how quickly the days are flying by (and this weekend especially!) and how Christmas is very quietly looming in the not too distant future.

Very scary indeed.

We took our visitors over to Paul Moody’s breaking in facility at Allora to visit their 2 year old filly, Shorts who is just about finished with her training with Paul and will be coming back to Massie Lodge next week

I have to tell you that I was very impressed with the professionalism of Paul’s setup and we will be sending both Lenny and Jake there next year for their turn.

After seeing the lovely Shorts, it was off to the races at Warwick, where I was quite surprised with the lack of people there … however, in saying that, I have been told a few times that Cup Day and the meeting on the 26th December are the meetings to go to!

After the races it was back to Massie Lodge to feed the residents and then get ready to go into Warwick for dinner at the Horse and Jockey.

Girls On Their Way Home

Maddie and Joie are due back at Massie Lodge tomorrow (Monday) after spending the week with handsome hunk, Portland Player. I was very impressed with the owners of Colourwell Stud at Eagleby (Lesley and Barry Sheehan) and the way that they have looked after the girls and made sure that they had a few (??) “encounters” with Player during their season.

I think the thing that impressed me the most was the way they kept in touch with us during their stay – we knew exactly what the girls were up to, knew when they were being served and how they found the girls. Well done Lesley and Barry.

Monika will come back in the next 3 weeks or so to scan the girls to see how they went.

Adam is due back at Massie Lodge in the next week to trim the four boys and the dirty girl who also is due for a trim. Also on Adam's agenda will be putting some shoes on Floss’s front toes as well. (Now that will prove an interesting day!).

I have to say that I have spent the second half of today relaxing in front of the Sci Fi channel on Austar … its been like a scifi junkie’s dream come true LOL (thank you to my lovely Evan for indulging me today).

Well, I had better scat as we have wind, thunder, lightning and some rain happening.

Helen.

P.S. Now I have to add that because of the rain, wind, thunder and lightning it has taken me over 3 hours to get this post up - only to find that some of the photos that I painstakingly edited and posted have disappeared down the ether. AAArgh! How frustrating! I will post the rest of the photos tomorrow night.

Jane and Maria - out at dinner last night.

I was a little surprised at the number of people who turned out for the races
at Warwick on the weekend, although I have been told, that THE day to go is
either Cup Day or the meeting on the 26th December.
