has been and gone at Massie Lodge. And might I point out that Easter would have to be my favourite time of the year. For those of you who know me.... you will be saying "Ahhh, yes I know why" but for those of you who dont, there is only one word to say.......... CHOCOLATE.
We have had to up the hand feeding regime as we still have not had any rain, but we have been lucky in procuring a large amount of good hay for a very reasonable price. It would not surprise me if it becomes a top dollar item in the not too distance future.
All the residents are very happy and are getting on with their lives...except of course for April (the Canadian Silver weanling) who is still most unhappy about being pried away from her mother. Lily and Lenny are living the life of Riley in their paddock together and are very well advanced with their training. Caramel is next on the weaning agenda, but not for a few weeks yet.
Charlie is still on the preparation road for the June sale at the Magic Millions and is a little bit of a handful at times. All in all he is a good boy for Evan and we are happy the way he is coming together. Slowly but surely.
The Princess has settled in with the girlies in Rosie's Paddock and has settled in as no. 2 in the group behind Missymoo. Susie has relaxed down well and is still enjoying a holiday away from the racetrack.
The bird population has increased by 1 - please dont tell Evan though... he has no idea YET!
My beautiful Kay has gone to a beautiful new home down in Victoria where she will be loved and doted on - you cant ask for more than that and it makes me smile when I think of how much her new owner loves her.
We have been having gale force winds, but there is no rain in sight. Its very scary to think that we will be heading into winter this way. Although i keep thinking that perhaps we just might get a little bit more.... and a little bit more than that.... well, you can only hope.
Enough! I have promised myself that i will take some time out tonight to get into my book... so hooorooo for now, take care!
Helen.
