We have enjoyed over 60ml of rain this last week and yesterday we were waiting for the skies to open again. Both Evan and I brought all the mares and their foals in early, fed them and tucked them in and then rushed into the house to have showers, boil the kettle and to get ready for the electricity to go off - as it so often does at this time of year.Waiting, waiting ... waiting for the deluge to fall ... but what do they say? A watched pot never boils? And sure enough, this storm split in tow and we got the edge of it. I have to say however, after all of the rain last week, we surely would have been a quagmire after this storm had it of hit us.
But, Iam not complaining. All of the dams are just about full, there is plenty of green pick around for the horses and the house tanks are filling nicely.
Note to self: Next year get yourself a dryer! lol

How good it is to see green in the paddocks at Massie Lodge again. And to imagine that the dams are almost full after being dry for more than 6 months!!
Somebody's trying to put in an order for Ruby and/or Doc below, but not having any of that, even if they were available. However, they do look beautiful. "Can we drive up and visit them?" Yep, just 10 minutes up the road.
Seriously, though, we have to work out a quick trip before Christmas so that we can say hello, meet and greet the newbies and smell the country air. Working on it.
